The program consists of patented computer based technology that requires a student to focus on an auditory stimuli and make a motor response. Its difference to just clapping to a regular metronome is that the program will direct the student either with visual or auditory feedback as to their performance measured at the millisecond level. Efficient millisecond timing is crucial for establishing and firing the brain at an automated level.

I use it (I am an OT) in my practice and school setting to help kids to identify their own 'internal timing' - how to learn what 'before the beat' (too fast) FEELS like and in contrast how what 'after the beat' (too slow) FEELS like and ultimately learn how to COUNTERACT their own timing tendency....it is, therefore, a wonderful tool to blend with many SI techniques and activities i.e. ' the alert program/how does your engine run' etc. I have developed modifications to facilitate learning the program steps in order to engage students regardless of their innate abilities. Research shows us that the more engaged a child is in the learning process, the more dendritic growth is fired up and hence strengthening/development of new neuronal pathways. As a student builds repetition accuracy and duration results as they apply to functional neuroplasticity include decreased sensory defensiveness (many of my children with defensiveness issues such as tolerance to noise in classroom and BATHROOM environments have been able to apply adaptive responses to stimuli within weeks of starting the program); vestibular; auditory; visual skills leading to improved body awareness; posture; motor skills and ultimately improved classroom performance; sensory modulation; reading; writing and academic benchmark skills. Within our school and clinic we have two of our tutors and members of lower school faculty trained up in the program, so that they can 'kick start' struggling students - they also blend it with the Brain Gym Program within the classroom which is amazing.
